Camp Bläserwinds

This year, under the direction of Dr. Anthony Fortuna (ABD), Camp Bläserwinds has expanded and will be hosting four music camps during the summer at the Suzuki School for Strings in Wilkes-Barre.

Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone choir camp allows students to perform challenging music in a fun and supportive environment focusing on perfecting musicianship through ensemble playing.

Harmonie Camp focuses on serious classical repertoire that is rarely performed and is aimed towards students who are dedicated to learning and perfecting the art of classical music. Flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, and horns will be eligible to participate in this camp. Concerto competition is open to flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn.

Each camp features a concerto competition, instrument-specific masterclasses for the Clarinet, Flute, and Saxophone camps, and an overall focus on improving musicality, sight-reading, and other vital skills for young musicians.

All camps run from 9AM-4PM for 5 days, and conclude with a concert for family and friends at 7PM on Friday night. Part placements will be based on an audition (packets with the audition excerpts can be found at Concerto competition and scholarship audition information and instructions will also be available here as well.
