Mr. Brubaker is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Kent State University with both a Bachelor and Master degrees in Cello Performance. He has performed with the Savannah, Akron and Colorado symphonies, among others, and has appeared as soloist with the Elgin Symphony, the Fox Valley Symphony and the Elmhurst Symphony in Illinois. He has been a faculty member at Wilkes and Marywood Universities and at the Suzuki Institute in Kingston, Ontario.
Mr. Brubaker is a current member of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and directs the Intermediate Orchestra at the Suzuki School for Strings. He has been teaching cello at the Suzuki School since 1989 and recently added piano to his teaching schedule. He received his Suzuki training from the Chicago Suzuki Institute, Ithaca College, and Blue Lake in Michigan.
